A judge has ruled in support of a woman who filed a lawsuit against Kansas guard Sherron Collins concerning an assault she said took room in an elevator.
Douglas County District Court Judge Jack Murphy granted a judgment Monday for recompense in excess of $75,000 to Jessica J. Brown.
Murphy ruled in Brown’s courtesy because Collins had failed to file a legal retort to the litigation since it was May 14.
In a news liberation, Collins said he wasn’t “altogether alert of what was anticipated of me in the courteous suit and what my responsibilities were in that staple. I will do my best to correct this and to prove that this accusation is not true.”
In the court case, Brown respondent Collins of exposing and resistance against her on May 18, 2007, in an elevator at a University of Kansas apartment complex.
No criminal charges have been filed.
