Redskins sign RB Alridge, place Randy Thomas on IR
The Washington Redskins have placed guard Randy Thomas on injured reserve and signed running back Anthony Alridge from the Houston Texans practice squad.
Alridge spent training camp with the Redskins, rushing 10 times for 46 yards in two preseason games. He was an undrafted free agent from the University of Houston who spent last season on the Broncos injured reserve list with a foot injury.
Thomas tore his right triceps in Sundays win over the St. Louis Rams. Tuesdays moves gives the Redskins five running backs on their 53-man roster.
