Iowa State University announced Thursday plans for a 36,000-quadrangular foot basketball practice gift. Pending approvals from the City of Ames and the Board of Regents, that could open as soon as September of 2009.

The new capacity will be loyal wholly to the mens and womanhoods basketball , including detached gymnasiums, locker accommodations, competitor and coaches offices for each team and a sports medicine unit. The means will be located on two lots of land on the west side of Ames that is spirit donated to the Iowa State University Foundation for this purpose by local developer Dickson Jensen. It will be part of a 10-acre comprehensive trade and commercial event planned for that area.

We were very anxious when Dickson approached us not far off his yearning to help our basketball programs by donating his land and also building a government-of-the-art practice feature for our mens and femaless basketball teams, said Athletics Director Jamie Pollard.

The competence will cost approximately $8,000,000 and will be funded fully by the sports pamphlet. The P.E. department has now outstretched $2.5,000,000 for the provision and will resume discussions with other Cyclone constituents over the next several months in hopes of floating the entire cost of the project.
