Betting On Ravens Patriots – Road To The Super Bowl Travels Through New England

Two of the online online sports betting favorites to win the AFC all season will finally meet in New England on Sunday as the Patriots host Baltimore with a spot in the Super Bowl on the line. New England’s future Hall of Fame quarterback has been extraordinary as of late and he’ll do enough to outduel his Baltimore counterpart.

What: NFL Betting
When: Sunday, January 22nd, 3:00 PM ET
Where: Gillette Stadium, Foxborough,
Pick: New England Patriots -7.5

Why Bet On Baltimore Ravens (13-4 SU, 8-8-1 ATS)

The Ravens may have been a bit fortunate to move on to the next round as they needed their defense to carry them to a 20-13 win at home over Houston, forcing four turnovers along the way. Safety Ed Reed had six tackles, a pick and four passes defensed, and he had to be carried off at the end of the game because he sold his body out to knock down the Texans’ final heave to the end zone. LaDarius Webb had a pair of picks for the Ravens, who allowed Arian Foster to run for 132 yards and Andre Johnson had 111 receiving yards, but Baltimore made stops when they had to. The offense was terrible, and Joe Flacco was 14-of-27 for 176 yards, although he did throw two touchdown passes. The line couldn’t open any holes for the running game (87 yards on 31 attempts), and they couldn’t protect Flacco, who was sacked five times and pressured many more. The offense looked like a group that hadn’t played in two weeks because of a bye, and it almost cost them this game.

Reed’s (knee) MRI came back negative, so expect the future Hall of Famer to be in the lineup and the Ravens will need him at the back of the defense, playing center field against the vaunted Patriots offense. However, it doesn’t matter how the defense plays because if Flacco and the offense don’t improve, the Ravens might as well stay home. Getting Ray Rice going is imperative to keep the opposition off-balance, but New England’s secondary isn’t that good, so they can be attacked.

Why Bet On New England Patriots (14-3 SU, 10-6-1 ATS)

The Patriots made sure by the end of the first half that there would be no NFL betting upset as they rolled to a 35-10 halftime lead and cruised to a 45-10 romp of Denver at home. Tom Brady was 26-of-34 for 363 yards and a pick, and his six touchdown passes tied an NFL record. Three of them went to tight end Rob Gronkowski, which was also a record, and Brady set a new mark with five touchdowns in the first half. New England also threw a wrinkle into their offense by putting tight end Aaron Hernandez in the backfield and he responded with 61 yards on five carries. Hernandez ran occasionally when he was at Florida (where he was a teammate of Denver quarterback Tim Tebow), and it just shows the versatility of this high-powered unit. The defense gave up 144 yards on the ground, but they did a better job of controlling Denver’s read-option offense than their first meeting and once they got out to a big lead, the Broncos had to throw it and that played into New England’s hands.

A possible head injury to Hernandez (concussion) was the lone negative to come from this game for the Patriots, but he passed early tests and should be able to suit up this week. The Patriots have now won nine in a row outright and only once have they scored less than 30 points (27 in a Week 16 come-from-behind win over Miami). And for all of the yards that the Patriots give up, they’re 15th in the league in points allowed. The patchwork secondary has come together in recent weeks and they can also stop the run, thanks to stoppers like Vince Wilfork on the line and Jerod Mayo at linebacker. Combine all of that with Brady’s laser-like focus and the Patriots are going to be hard to beat, especially at home.

How It Will Play Out

NFL betting odds have the Patriots favored by 7.5 points at home, where they are 4-1 SU and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five meetings with the Ravens, with three games falling under the posted total. However, the only loss came in the playoffs two years ago, when the Ravens stomped the Patriots 33-14 at “The Razor” and they have enough veteran players that the crowd shouldn’t be a major factor.

This could come down to the play of the quarterbacks, and even though his line didn’t give him much help, Flacco simply has to play better on Sunday than he did against the Texans because the Patriots are going to put up points. New England has to protect Brady from the Baltimore pass rush, and specifically Terrell Suggs, who has accused the league of protecting Brady too much in the past. In the end, it’s tough to bet against Brady and the Patriots at home, so ride with New England to cover the sports betting spread.

Giants 49ers Betting – San Fran Line Play Takes Them To The Super Bowl

While most sports online sports betting players will pay attention to skill players, the best ones know that many games are won and lost in the trenches, where the offensive and defensive lines battle for any edge they can get. These battles will be the key factor in New York’s trip to San Francisco for the NFC championship game, and the nod goes to the 49ers.

What: NFL Betting
When: Sunday, January 22nd, 6:00 PM ET
Where: Candlestick Park, San Francisco, CA
Pick: San Francisco 49ers -2

Why Bet On New York Giants (11-7 SU, 10-7-1 ATS)

The Giants may have taken advantage of a Green Bay team that looked rusty and hadn’t taken any meaningful snaps in a few weeks, but New York still had to use their chances in a 37-20 win at Lambeau Field, their second win in Green Bay in four postseasons. Eli Manning was 21-of-33 for 330 yards, three touchdowns and a pick, and the Giants’ signature play from this game will be Hakeem Nicks’ 37-yardHail Mary touchdown at the end of the first half to put them up 20-10. On offense is where the Packers really looked rusty as their receivers couldn’t catch the ball, but perhaps they were hearing footsteps as the Giants’ defense was in their face all day long, forcing four turnovers. End Osi Umenyiora benefitted from the double teams that were sent to Jason Pierre-Paul as he had two of the Giants’ four sacks and a forced fumble. That was as good as you could play on the road against a team that was 15-1 and coming off the bye, and the Giants never let up, scoring 17 points in the fourth quarter to seal the deal.

There are no major injuries to report for the Giants heading into this game, and you really have to give it to head coach Tom Coughlin, who comes under fire every year, but he has had the Giants prepared for the last few weeks when their season has been on the line. When they won the Super Bowl four years ago, it came with three straight road wins. It’s very possible that they could do it again.

Why Bet On San Francisco 49ers (14-3 SU, 8-0-1 ATS)

NFL betting lines had the 49ers as underdogs at home against New Orleans, but head coach Jim Harbaugh had his boys prepared and it was an all-around team effort in a 36-32 win over the Saints. Alex Smith was 24-of-42 for 299 yards and three touchdowns with no picks, which was two fewer than Drew Brees and his 28-yard scoring run with 2:11 left will be a lasting memory of the 49ers’ season, whether they win or lose this game. San Francisco also minimized their chances for turnovers with a running game that racked up 143 yards on just 22 carries. The defense did give up 32 points, but they also forced five turnovers (three fumbles and two picks) out of a New Orleans offense that had been incredibly stingy when it comes to turnovers. They shut down the Saints’ running game to the tune of 37 yards on 14 carries, and the 49ers sacked Brees three times. One of those came from tackle Justin Smith, who was in the New Orleans backfield on seemingly every play and he may have been the player of the game if not for Smith or tight end Vernon Davis, who had seven catches for 180 yards and a pair of scores, including a game-winner with nine seconds left that will go down in San Francisco history.

Running back Frank Gore (leg) is a worry, along with receiver Ted Ginn (leg), so watch the injury report this week, although we expect both players to be in action. Gore is the larger worry because the 49ers have to be able to run the ball against the Giants or else New York’s front four will have full license to tee off on Smith. However, they have one of the best offensive lines in the game and that’s going to be a monster matchup to watch during the NFC championship game.

How It Will Play Out

San Francisco is a 2-point favorite at home over the Giants, who are 3-2 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings with the 49ers, with three games going over the posted total. This will be the eighth playoff meeting for these two and the first since 2002, when the 49ers pulled out a 39-38 thriller in the wild-card round, and San Francisco is now 4-3 SU in their postseason meetings with the Giants.

The 49ers also won their Week 10 meeting with New York by a score of 27-20 at home, and turnovers were the difference as the Giants had two to one for San Francisco. This game should also be a close one and it’s going to come down to line play on both sides of the ball. The 49ers get the edge in both matchups and that’s why they’ll barely cover the online betting spread to win the NFC.

Giants 49ers Betting Pick: San Francisco 49ers

Who do you think will win at the broncos .v patriots game

Beacause my friendandi where gonna bet $30 but I don’t watch that much football but I kinda thought the patriots would win but my friend wants to stay loyal to our home team sooo do u think the patriots are gonna win or is this not a good bet

Patriots

Yes it’s a fantastic bet the broncos aren’t gonna keep up with Tom brady

A lot of people are counting the broncos out but last week they just played to good against the steelers, who happen to have one of the best defenses in the league. So I think the broncos offense will take over the pats defense easily, and the broncos defense will stop Brady and the offense. So yes, I think the broncos will win.

Go Broncos! *tebows*

I think Pats.

I predicted that the Patriots will beat the Broncos 37-17 for my blog (I predicted the scores of all 4 playoff games this weekend for my blog at http://bikinihill.blogspot.com/ if you’re interested in checking it out). Enjoy this weekend’s games!

I’m a huge pats fan. So patriots all the wayy. Tom Brady got thiis !! (:

just a question…….

why does everyone hate on tebow when…

-tebow donates most of his paycheck towards charity
-he is not cocky nor arrogant
-not selfish
-completely devotes himself towards football and helping his team win
-even after tonights beatdown, he still played with enthusiasm and pride
-great role model towards kids

but people like roethlisberger and vick who rape people and bet on killing dogs are praised and LOVED by many. Does it make any sense. You may make a case for roethlisberger because he won championships, but vick didn’t. WHY is tebow hated by many, when there are thugs out there who make football look horrible towards kids who are new to the sport..

I’m a packer fan born and raised in Wisconsin by the way.

http://www.sportspickle.com/news/1107/tim-tebow-blows-signing-bonus-on-charity-donations

goodies, i respect your answer and such, but a signing bonus IS PART of your paycheck. As soon as he got his bonus, he donated it. Either way, he took his OWN money (2.5m) and donated it to people who actually needed it more.

  • Cuz he’s such a good player?! I don’t know, I love Calvin Johnson!!!!!
  • What charity is that? Please do not say the “Tebow Foundation”.
  • hmm sources on the donating part ?

and i honestly bet he’s a good guy i just cant stand his fan base so it makes me not want to hear about him at all !

and i’m a huge steelers fan and i dislike ben
but honestly i dont think he raped anyone
its just people trying to get money off of him
it’s hapened with justin beiber with a 20 yr old claiming to have his kid
    and michael jackson
its just scandals and pathetic people trying to make a quick buck

you wanna try and give a good name for tebow try doing it without bringing other QBS and people into the mix
tims no better than you or me nor is any other person his pay checks are just more thats all.

  • I would say its because he only has year of experience and he is shooting up so fast.

I’m a cowboys fan and i wondered the same about Dez Bryant. But its because he was so good as a rookie.

  • Nobody hates Tebow, we just hate those who overhype him.
  • its not just tebow. it happen to anyone who gets so much media attention. its happened to miley cyrus, taylor swift, justin beiber, brittney spears and the list goes on. they have been called sluts and no talents and everything else and the only reason is their quick rise to celebrity. i dont know if its jealousy or what but we live in a society where people hate to see other people do well.
  • ALL THE OTHER ANSWERS GIVEN ARE WRONG.

The reason is because the media is liberal and does not like God. That is why Vick, and many other players have lived recklessly and caused so much hurt to innocent people, but yet they are loved by the media. It is unfortunate, but the truth!! There are many many professional athletes who have killed people in drunk driving accidents!!!

  • I love Tebow because of all the reason you listed. He is humble and even when he loses he understands that its an honor to be in such a position. Hes not a thug like Suggs who talks crap and runs his mouth about everyone when he gets paid millions.
  • tebowing… while god makes shure the broncos win there a starving kids in africa

Question about this boy -___-

So I met him at college and for the two and a half months he was really flirty with me and always asked me to study with him and he would be touchy. He would also invite me to things with his friends or even to go play football with his boys. I would always flirt back and I thought that he liked me. He was in a frat for awhile and still had this pledge pin and i was looking at it one day (holding it) and he said oh you know if you touch my pledge pin you have to kiss me. So I laughed and was like you are making that up. He also made a bet with me and I lost and he said that now I owe him two kisses. So one night I was alone in his room and we were cuddling and he looked up the rules for the pledge pin to show me and it said the guy had to kiss the girl. So I was like see now you owe ME two kisses. And he was really nervous and he went in to kiss me but he backed away twice! and then his roommate came in so I went to bed.
A few weeks later he found out I liked him.. surprise?.. and I went to ask him straight up how he felt about me. He said that he was playing me and that he always had a problem with playing girls. He said he thinks I am really pretty but he is looking for his wife in college and I apparently can not be in a long term relationship?. So I was really hurt over this but agreed just to be friends.
Things were kinda awkward and we didn’t flirt anymore and didnt joke around at all like we used to.
Things also go really tense and we fought a lot and he also talked shit about me behind my back to my friends saying that I put on an act to get attention which isn’t true and I confronted him about it and it turned into a huge deal.
We sorted things out, I guess and we are now on break. I am going back to school and will see him all the time because we have the same group of friends and he lives across the hall from me.

What do you think? Everyone thinks that he likes me but doesn’t know how to handle his feelings because he’s never really been in a relationship before and has no game or balls. I also should add he told me that he had feelings for me when we started studying together but then when he realized I started to have feelings for him he backed away…

Ideas? he’s confusing.
I did back way off for awhile and when I do this he always makes an effort to come to my room for some stupid reason or yell my name through my window and he even told me to promise him I would come over. but i told him that I wasn’t going to make any promises. This was after the huge fight.

  • Ok, so he TOLD YOU he’s a player, and that he played you, and he talked sh*t about you behind your back.

Soooo, how is this confusing to you again?

Let me explain this, as a guy who knows guys exactly like this guy. He’s just going to f**k you and forget you. That’s what they do. So, you have been warned.

I expect in a few months will be a new question, “This guy f**ked me and now he won’t talk to me. So confused.”

  • Maybe he’s gay
  • Sounds like he isn’t ready to commit completely. I say just hang out and be friends for now. Maybe he will realize that he really likes you and want to be with you. Otherwise, he isn’t really worth it and you can find that out sooner rather than waiting around for him.
  • Back off, back way off. This is anything but healthy. This is not mature on either of your sides. Attend a church service on campuss and open your heart to Jesus. Forget this fellow and quit the hooking up and hanging out. Develop yourself spiritually, ask Jesus to send your husband into your life. This husband will not be a stumbling block, or confusing. Jesus is the way the truth and the life! ps I like the Newman center on campus!
  • This boy sounds two faced if you ask me. What im trying to say is that my guess is that hes a player and just
“Used” you for his sexual needs. Someone probably found out about this and may of told him that your not the prettiest girl, which i am sure is a total lie, and now he doesnt want to seem like a guy that goes for
“Ugly” chicks. But in time he will begin to realize that all the times of cuddling and messing around were amazing times and he will start talking with you again. If i were you i would continue to be his friend but no more touchy feely. Hes only going to use you.
  • Sounds like a guy who doesn’t know what he wants. Therefore, this is the perfect chance for you to get out there and meet new people at college. Date other guys. Don’t get hung up over this one! No matter how much you wanted to hook up with him, you two were never an item! It would be interesting to see how he reacts when he finds out that you are dating another guy. His true feelings will show then! Jealousy? Would he even care? who knows.
  • I think you shouldn’t be close to him like it. And now you should forget him. I’m sorry about you. I had this awful experience to.

Bet Giants Packers – Pack Attack Giants At Lambeau

Green Bay still have to be the online online sports betting favorites to defend their Super Bowl title, and they’ll begin their playoff run at home against the New York Giants, who they have already defeated this season on the road. Look for the Packers to do it again, but this game won’t be as close as the first meeting.

What: NFL Betting
When: Sunday, January 15th, 4:30 PM ET
Where: Lambeau Field, Green Bay, WI
Pick: Green Bay Packers -8

Why Bet On New York Giants (10-7 SU, 9-7-1 ATS)

The Giants’ defense has dominated over the last three weeks and they came up big once again in a 24-2 romp over Atlanta at home in the wild-card round, and even though they had just two sacks, the Giants were in Matt Ryan’s face all day long. They stopped the Falcons on a few short situations on third and fourth down, and the Giants were able to turn around and convert them into points. Eli Manning was 23-of-32 for 277 yards and three touchdowns, and the ground game continued to roll as the Giants racked up 172 yards on the ground. Even though they finished 32nd in the league in rushing, the Giants’ ground game has gained steam over the last couple of weeks and they’ll need this in Green Bay to keep the Packers off-balance, even though the Giants may aim to target the Green Bay secondary.

Running back D.J. Ware (concussion) and cornerback Aaron Ross (concussion) both left the Atlanta game and will have to be cleared to play this week, so watch the injury report. The Packers should be worried about the Giants as this isn’t the same team they beat 38-35 on the road in New York in Week 13. In particular, the defense wasn’t as dominant up front and Aaron Rodgers was allowed to make plays inside and outside of the pocket. This unit is looking eerily similar to the group that led the Giants to the Super Bowl a few years ago, and that may be their only chance because we’re not sure they want to get into a shootout with Green Bay.

Why Bet On Green Bay Packers (15-1 SU, 11-5 ATS)

The loss in Kansas City during Week 15’s action may have been the best thing for the Packers as it took a lot of pressure off regarding the possibility of an undefeated season. Now, it’s almost as though some NFL betting players are underestimating the defending champions, and that is dangerous….incredibly dangerous. Rodgers still has to be the favorite for the MVP, although New Orleans’ Drew Brees has definitely turned it into a two-horse race. Rodgers still led the league in passer rating and even had the luxury of sitting out the finale against Detroit, and don’t let Matt Flynn’s big game that day trick you into thinking that Rodgers is a “system quarterback”; quite frankly, that is ridiculous. One thing is for sure, though: he has a slew of weapons in the passing game, and receiver Greg Jennings returns from injury to lead the way.
The Packers are 27th in the league on the ground, but the running game in Green Bay is only there to help run down the clock later in games and maybe on a few short plays. The defense has been much maligned, finishing last in yards per game allowed, but they’re tried with San Francisco in total takeaways and they’re second in turnover margin, which keeps them in games.

Running back James Starks (ankle) was a hero in last year’s Super Bowl run, but he is a question mark this week for the Packers, who will need to run the ball to slow down the Giants’ pass rush. The Packers’ offensive line has been banged up throughout the season and even though they appear to be healthy now, they have to win the battle with the Giants’ line, or at least take them to a draw, giving Rodgers the time he needs to find his targets.

Why Bet On Green Bay Packers (15-1 SU, 11-5 ATS)

NFL betting odds have the Packers favored by nine points at home, where they are 7-1 ATS this season, while the Giants are 5-3 ATS on the road. New York has visited Lambeau five times since 1985, going 2-3 SU and ATS in those games, with three games going over the posted total. However, the Packers are out for revenge after losing 23-20 at home in the 2008 playoffs to the Giants, who went on to win the Super Bowl that year. The Packers romped to a 45-17 win in 2010, but this is the real rematch, given what is on the line.

While the first meeting was close, this won’t be as tight as the Packers are excellent at Lambeau and it could be close for the first half, but eventually Rodgers and the Packers will pull away in the second half. Manning has had a fantastic season, but he has shown some lapses down the stretch and he wasn’t that great for the first half (or more) in the Atlanta game. Green Bay is rested and at home, and they should e able to cruise to a sports betting victory at Lambeau.

Giants Packers Betting Pick: Green Bay Packers

Bet On Saints 49ers – “D” Comes Up Big For Saints In San Francisco

While most sports online sports betting players know that New Orleans’ offense can put up points with anyone in the NFL, this week’s trip to San Francisco in the divisional round will hinge on their defense, which is going to tee off on the 49ers’ quarterback.

What: NFL Betting
When: Saturday, January 14th, 4:30 PM ET
Where: Candlestick Park, San Francisco, CA
Pick: New Orleans Saints -3.5

Why Bet On New Orleans Saints (14-3 SU, 13-4 ATS)

The Saints have won eight in a row outright after a 45-28 win over Detroit, and it took their offense a while to get going, but once it did, the Lions couldn’t keep up. Drew Brees ended up with 466 yards and three touchdowns on 33-of-43 passing, but the Saints also kept the Lions off-balance with 167 yards on the ground as they racked up 626 yards of offense, and this also allowed the Saints to hold onto the ball for over 37 minutes. The defense held their own against the vaunted Detroit offense, holding them to 412 yards and forcing a pair of turnovers. Outside of receiver Calvin Johnson having over 200 yards (and that isn’t a slight on New Orleans as Johnson is the best wideout in the league), no one else on the Detroit offense really broke free.

The defense did enough to keep the Saints in the game until Brees and the offense found their rhythm and despite their two turnovers, New Orleans’ offense eventually broke the Lions down.
New Orleans should be healthy heading into this contest as receiver Lance Moore (hamstring) is their main injury concern, and the Saints didn’t miss him against the Lions. They have so many weapons and arguably the best quarterback in the NFL in Brees, who will have his hands full against a tough San Francisco defense. He may be asked to carry the load again as the 49ers are first in the league against the run, but the Saints can also trot out an assortment of backs to take on San Francisco.

Why Bet On San Francisco 49ers (13-3 SU, 11-4-1 ATS)

A few NFL betting players probably gave San Francisco a small chance to win the NFC West in Jim Harbaugh’s first season as head coach, but to go from 6-10 to a 13-3 juggernaut to get to the postseason for the first time since 2002 may be the biggest surprise of the season. Alex Smith has been the biggest beneficiary of Harbaugh’s tutelage as he finished ninth in the league in passer rating, but he has also been aided by a healthy Frank Gore, who played 16 games for the first time since 2006 and only the second time in his career, and he finished sixth in rushing yards. Tight end Vernon Davis and receiver Michael Crabtree are Smith’s favorite targets and Crabtree is slowly improving, showing the skills that made him a beast at Texas Tech. The San Francisco defense finished fourth in the NFL and as was mentioned before, they’re first against the run; good luck trying to run against a linebacking duo of Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman. Rookie end Aldon Smith racked up 14.0 sacks and may end up as the Defensive Rookie of the Year. The defense is also tied with Green Bay with 38 takeaways and they lead the NFC in turnover margin.

Receivers Ted Ginn (ankle) and Kyle Williams (concussion) will have to get through practice this week, but tight end Delanie Walker (jaw) is definitely out this week. Some say that the 49ers play a soft schedule and they were in a terrible division, but they still managed to roll over Pittsburgh, and they earned good wins over Detroit and the New York Giants. Harbaugh has changed the culture in San Francisco and now they think they can win any game they play, but this game could come down to Smith under center.

How It Will Play Out

The NFL betting line for this game as New Orleans as a 3.5-point favorite on the road in San Francisco, and they’ve won six straight games against the 49ers, going 4-2 ATS in that stretch. The 49ers were spread-covering beasts at Candlestick this season, going 7-0-1 ATS at home, while the Saints were 4-4 ATS away from the Superdome. All three of their outright losses have come on the road and now the Saints have to take their high-powered show on the road against a top defense.

There are a lot of Saints who remember last year’s loss in Seattle and that left a bitter taste in their mouths, and they’re going to erase it with a win in San Francisco. The offense will have a solid day, but nothing record-breaking. The key will be a defense that forces Smith to make some mistakes and if the Saints get a lead and are able to blitz when they want (which they’ll do under coordinator Gregg Williams anyway), it could get ugly for the 49ers, who are one year and a receiver or two away from contending. Go with New Orleans to cover the online betting spread this weekend.

Saints 49ers Betting Pick: New Orleans Saints

it’s truly hard to relate to music afficionados when they dont respect lil wayne

it’s really disappointing to hear one of my friends reference the latest and greatest musicians ever and somehow exclude lil wayne. He’s a powerful rapper and knows how to play around and write the wittiest one liners ever. He’s like a comedian who can be serious and tell stories and vocalize powerful social messages ("take away the football team, the basketball team and new orleans has only got me to represent them." his message should’ve been listened to after hurricane katrina instead of kanye’s blatant troll comment). He’s really unparalleled and if he was alive in the 16th/17th century he’d be considered a highly gifted polymath, savant, and prodigy. Imagine what he could’ve have done hundreds ago. I bet he could’ve have invented calculus and put shakespeare, mozart, and beethoven out of work.

You shouldn’t let things like that get you upset. Everyone has their own taste in music and their own opinion. I don’t think Wayne has been around long enough to be considered as one of the greatest musicians ever though. Maybe in a few more years he will get more respect.

Personally he would not be on my list of legends either. When I think of greatest musicians ever I think of MJ, Tupac, Elvis and Kurt Cobain. But hey, that is simply my opinion. Wayne would be on my list of great rappers from the new school though.

Cardinals Bengals Betting – Bengals Look To Keep Playoff Hopes Alive Against Surging Cardinals

After losing four of five games from mid-November in to December, the Cincinnati Bengals got a crucial win over the St. Louis Rams to keep pace with the New York Jets in the AFC Wild Card race. Fast-forward to this Sunday and the Bengals will face their second NFC West opponent in as many weeks in the Arizona Cardinals, and with their season finale the following week against the Baltimore Ravens, this game is undoubtedly a must-win to have any shot at the postseason. Cincinnati is favored by four according to the sports online sports betting lines despite the Cardinals’ recent success, and it will be interesting to see how these teams match up.

The Bengals will play an Arizona team that has won four straight, including victories over a pair of NFC division leaders in the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers, to climb back to the .500 mark. The Cardinals understood when their streak began that they wouldn’t have a shot at competing for a playoff spot, but that hasn’t slowed them down to this point and won’t stop them from attempting to play spoiler against Cincinnati.

Two of Arizona’s four straight wins have come in overtime, and the most impressive part has been their ability to close out games strong. Even with quarterback John Skelton under center, the Cardinals have found ways to move the ball on offense, and their defense has not allowed more than 20 points in any of their past four games after allowing them to surpass that mark in six of their first nine games. Running back Beanie Wells is averaging 4.3 yards per carry, and Skelton is making plays with his legs as well while the cut down in turnovers has also been a huge factor.

It is no coincidence that the Bengals’ most recent win came in a game where they ended a streak of five straight games of allowing 100 yards or more on the ground, as defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer was finally able to tighten things up in the front-seven. Cincinnati will need its defense to come up big once again in each of the final two games if they are going to beat out the Jets for the final Wild Card spot, while the offense remains on the shoulder of quarterback Andy Dalton. Dalton threw for just 179 yards and an interception against the Rams, and with the running game struggling to get going, he will need to put up better numbers against a much more talented Cardinals’ team.

Cardinals Bengals Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick

The Cardinals come in to this game playing some of their best football in the last two years, while Cincinnati’s only two wins in the past six weeks have come against teams with a combined six wins this season. The Bengals will lay it all on the line for the chance to remain in position for an AFC Wild Card berth, but even if they manage to come out on top in this one, they will have a hard time covering the best sportsbook spread.
